Save Your Solar Eclipse Glasses!

Stories in Sustainability & Science

Hi friends!

If you spent time staring up at the solar eclipse like I did yesterday, you probably have some protective glasses lying around your house this morning. Don’t throw them out!

If your solar eclipse glasses are still in good condition (i.e. no one poked holes in the lens or ripped them apart) you can donate them to be used by school children in Latin America to view an eclipse this October!

Owl Moon by Jane Yolen

I highly suggest that you add “Owl Moon” to your library request list! This is a heartwarming story of a young girl who goes owling with her father for the first time on a cold winter night. The book beautifully captures the sense of wonder and excitement of a child experiencing the magic of the natural world and the special bond between a father and daughter.
